Mr. Mace's Classes

Class offerings:

 

Computer Applications-In Computer Applications students will receive hands-on training in the use of a word processor, spreadsheet, database, and presentation graphics software (Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint). The skills acquired in this course will have applications for high school, college, and the workplace.

 

Video Technology-Students will learn about digital camcorder operations, video editing, software, and other equipment that is used in broadcasting. This course will allow students to develop a weekly news show that will include ideas (but are not limited to) such as upcoming events, sports, weather, fine arts, etc. Weekly segments will be distributed for students and staff to view.

 

Computer Art-This beginning level High School Art class uses graphic design and art concepts to create products for our school store.  We design real world projects that are used by the school and community.  

 

Graphic Design-Students will design quality publications using Adobe CS6, the premier software program for professional graphic design and desktop publishing. Software will be used to produce publications such as the school yearbook, event programs, posters, etc. 

 

Web Design-Designed to teach introductory skills and concepts needed to design and edit electronic media. Web authoring applications and digital imaging software will be utilized in order to create World Wide Web pages. Real-world activities will be completed that will integrate text and graphic images into a cumulative website project. The software applications Dreamweaver, Photoshop, and other Internet tools will be used for classroom instruction.

 

Multimedia-This semester course provides a foundation in various media including image editing, desktop publishing, audio and video production, animation, and social media. Students will use creative design skills to develop individual and team projects. Time management will be essential to success. Final evaluation includes an electronic portfolio.

Beginning Drawing-Students in beginning drawing will learn basic drawing skills and work throughout the year to improve their technique.  Students will use several drawing media and build on their skills to create drawings with increasing accuracy and detail.
