We are gathered here today for the newly wed couple, and in turn, their untimely death. Today is by far, a sour day. While some may find light on this otherwise dark time with the newly made amends of the Capulets and the Montagues. I do not. I would like, however, to have a moment of silence. These two hearts full of love, fell for each other. Though in turn, became the fall of one another. “That which we call a rose / By any other word would smell as sweet”
Both Juliet and Romeo were born into prestigious families. Capulet and Montague, of wealth and of social status. When both young hearts fell head over heels for each other they immediately decided to get married. Despite the feud between the two families. With the feud, Tybalt Capulet killed Mercutio Montague, thus Romeo killing Tybalt out of revenge. Romeo is then banished by the prince from Verona. Now with Romeo being banished and the death of Tybalt, he believes that his actions have caused Juliet to die of a broken heart. With this Romeo ends his life soon followed by Juliet. With both lovers dead, their families come together and understand that death is too harsh of a punishment and that it was their fault their children were deceased.
Many know that love can heal and grow, just as it can crash and scar. Death may be the ultimate punishment, though for these two, death was what they believed brought them together. “Goodbyes are only for those who love with their eyes. Because for those who love with heart and soul there is no such thing as separation.” Both Romeo and Juliet are a prime example of true love. Loving without hesitation, so much so they were blind from all else. Remember to love with your heart fully, but see the world around you for what it truly is. Thank you for your time.
