On October 8, 1948 in Long Island, NY a boy named John William Cummings soon to be known as Johnny Ramone. Johnny Ramone would then eventually join the band Ramones in 1974. Johnny Ramone, as the lead guitarists would use the same guitar he played for all 15 Ramones albums produced during that time, including studio and live albums. Soon the band would disband in 1996 after a show at the Palace in Hollywood. On September 15, 2004 in Los Angeles, CA Johnny Ramone would sadly die of prostate cancer. Johnny Ramone’s guitar would go up for auction on September 25th, 2021 in Boston. Johnny Ramone’s iconic guitar sold for more than $900,000 at an auction on September 25th, 2021. Johnny Ramone originally purchased the guitar for about $500. Its new owner is a U.S collector who wishes to remain anonymous, the auction house said.
