Born in 1951, Ben Carson grew up in poverty. Often on the streets of Detroit, he was known mostly for his sharp anger, and violence towards others. It says in his public profile (American Academy of Achievement website) "had a temper so violent that he would attack other children, even his mother, at the slightest provocation." After many events, the worst of, was almost stabbing a kid to death for changing a radio station. It was soon after that he sprinted home, grabbed his bible, and began praying. "Better a patient man than a warrior, a man who controls his temper than one who takes a city." It was at this moment that he realized that he wanted to be in charge of his temper, rather than it being in control of him.

His academic scores sky rocketed, being at the top of the nation's highest ranking colleges. From the age of 8, he knew that he wanted to be in the medical field, and for as long as he can remember, he took interest in psychology. The decision to attend high school was easy, though college would prove to be difficult physically and financially.

Ben Carson became a famous pediatrician neuroscientist, focusing on the study of epilepsy. Mr.Carson was also the first doctor to perform a successful separation of head conjoined twins. Surprisingly enough, even while being widely known for his success in the neuroscience field, he began to pursue a new life of politics. In fact, in 2016, Ben Carson ran for President of the United States. If he would have won, he would have been the second president to be of color. Running with the Republican Party, he is Pro Life, anti same sex marriage, and believes that illegal immigrants should be required to return to their country of origin before they were eligible for citizenship.

He is still actively participating in politics, and interviews about his life, with having 70 years under his belt, he was a large influence with the early cases of Covid 19. “stop playing politics with medicine and instead combine our efforts and goodwill for the good of all people." He urged his people to re-elect his “friend” (Donald Trump) in 2020. He states that he was friends before and after the election.
